Little Mountain Baseball

Welcome to the home of Little Mountain Baseball in Vancouver. Little Mountain Baseball offers Little League Baseball to children aged 4 to 12 years residing within our boundaries.

Little Mountain Baseball is Canada’s oldest Little League, formed in 1951.  2019 will be our 69th season!  Come join the more than 800 boys and girls playing baseball at Hillcrest and Riley parks in Vancouver's Little Mountain neighbourhood.

LMB Winter Clinics

Little Mountain is proud to announce that we will be partnering with UBC and offering winter baseball camps for LMB kids ages 8-12.  Along with this being an opportunity for the kids to improve their skills we will be providing an opportunity for our volunteer coaches to improve their skills as well.

The camp times and dates are the following:

  • Baseball 8's, 9’s and 10’s are Tuesdays from 430p-6p.
    • Born Sept. 1, 2008 - Aug. 31, 2011
    • Clinic is full
  • Baseball 11’s and 12’s are Wednesdays from 7p-830p.
    • Born Sept. 1, 2006 - Aug. 31, 2008
    • Clinic is full

The camps will start on January 8th and the final day will be March 13th.

The camps will take place at the indoor baseball facility located on the UBC campus.  UBC will be providing 2 coaches for each session and LMB will be adding our own experienced coaches along with the coaches that come out to learn each week.

Cost to register a player for this camp is $350 and includes and hat and T-shirt from UBC.  There is is no cost to participate as a coach.

The normal cost for UBC 10 week camps is $450 but at LMB we understand that the costs to play baseball are already great so the league will be paying $100 for each player.

Registration for both clinics is full at this time.

Message from the President

On behalf of the board, welcome to the 68th year of Little Mountain Baseball.  For those who don’t know, LMB is the oldest little league in Canada having been chartered in
1951.

Opening day is upon us and a sure sign that longer sunny days are ahead.

This year we have over 800 kids registered to play baseball at Little Mountain, ranging in age from 4-12, playing in 9 different divisions including Challenger Division, with games being held at 7 different parks. Needless to say, all our volunteers have have been extremely busy but have us ready to play ball. We hope you understand with the number of teams we have this year, there will be some games and practices that require a little bit of a drive.

Little Mountain is blessed to have an incredible group of volunteers. A lot of these volunteers are donating their time year round, putting in countless hours to ensure our league runs as smoothly as possible during the season. Our groundskeeper has done a terrific job getting our fields in great shape and despite the weather, we’ve managed to get a tournament in already. Having said that, there is always room for more volunteers, whether it is Team Parent, raking the field, scorekeeper, announcer or a shift in the concession, it helps the league and is greatly appreciated.

To the new players and families in our program, we hope your experience at Little Mountain is a positive one and that you will be playing with us for many years to come. As a volunteer program, we also hope that your families will be able to pitch in and become a part of the Little Mountain volunteer community.

LMB is excited to host an International Tournament this year from May 3-6th. We will be hosting 2 teams from Kitasuna, Japan and a team from Taiwan, as well as Victoria and other local teams. If you recognize the name Kitasuna, it is because they won the Little League World Series last year and have won it 3 of the last 6 years. They will be fun to watch. Keep your eye on our new website for more information.

The tournament is looking for volunteers in many different areas. Please reach out if you would like to be a part of this event or are able to help in any way.

We hope you can join us on April 28th for our 3rd annual Spring Fling fundraiser. This is our largest fundraiser and a great opportunity to socialize and get to know your fellow LMB parents. Check our new website for details.

To our many loyal sponsors, thank you for supporting our league over the years. As a community based organization, we benefit from the sponsorships we receive and we hope that you will support those sponsors when you can.

Our League is truly a one-of- a-kind place to make and share memories with kids, families and friends.  I am constantly reminded by members of this community of the numerous memories and friendships that have been created in and around Little Mountain Baseball.

We are set for another fun and exciting baseball season and there is no better place for a family to watch a baseball game than our Main Diamond. Come for a burger and watch a game. Your children will always remember their time and experiences at LMB and I look forward to seeing you all out there on the field or in the bleachers.

President
